Guest Blogger - Saving Money At Christmas Time

Hey and welcome to another one of my guest post posts.Does that make sense? I hope it does I am very fortunate to have made some wonderful friends doing this blogging gig. And today I have one of the very first friends I made doing a guest post for me. When I first started blogging I was scared that no one would read what I have to say. But one day I think it was my first or second post someone did comment and it was this wonderful lady you are about to meet. I was so happy to have someone leave a comment. Guess what she has been here ever since she is an awesome person and great blogger. I think of her as my mentor she has taught me a lot about blogging and has become a dear friend so without any further chatter from me I present to you Tammy I was going to link her blogs here but I see she has done that for me.See what I mean she is the best...

Hello??? Can you all hear me??? Phew that's good, I was worried that I would mess this up. Hi, I'm Tammy from Mom Knows Everything and A Little Girl Talk. This is my first time being a guest blogger and I really want to get this right. For some reason Tina, whose wonderful blog I'm posting on right now, thinks I'm pretty cool and she asked me if I would like to be a guest blogger. Tina is such a great friend that of course I said "Yes!".

Now, what do I talk about.......ummmm.......ahhhhh.......okay, okay, I'm thinking, don't rush me, I want this to be good.

Oh man, now I'm sweating! What do I talk about? Hmmmmm....of course I could talk about how wonderful Tina is, but you all know that. I could talk about how wonderful I am, but you all know that too! HEY.....did I just hear some snickers???

Alright, I'll stop goofing around.

With Christmas coming up soon I thought it would be great to share some of my secrets to cutting costs at Christmas time. The first thing I do is always check for sales. This might mean having to walk around the mall a little or check the flyers, but it's an easy way to save money. Another great way to help with the costs at Christmas time to make gifts. Can you knit, crochet or do anything crafty? If not, a great easy homemade gift is to get a jar and layer the dry ingredients for cookies or brownies in them. Add a ribbon with the recipe attached and there you have a great homemade Christmas gift. Homemade baking is always a big hit whether it be cookies or chocolate dipped pretzels. Why not make a gift basket up of some small things you can make including, hot chocolate mix, a tin of home made cookies and spoons dipped in chocolate to mix up the hot chocolate.

I've always appreciated home made gifts more then store bought ones, it means the person giving the gift spent time thinking about me instead of just picking something up.

What are some of the things you do to help to save money at Christmas time?

Tammy spotlighted her guest spot on your blog, so here I am. Your blog sooooooo cool and original!
Tammy is one the sweetest, gracious ladies on the web! She was a great choice. p.s. I think everyone can identify with that feeling of no one commenting on your blog. My feeliing is that if you've taken a minute to stop by, what's another few to post! *laughing* I'm getting off my soap box now! Petra :))

Good job Tammy!!! Very funny! I do make chex mix and put in a tin (last year at the after Christmas sale I found a bunch of picture holding tins that I will put a pic of Hunter in along with the Chex mix) we also can pickles and peppers so I usually put a bow around them and put them in a basket...

Great post!!!

YAY!!! Tammy is awesome (and totally obsessed with Christmas hehehe). I LOVE the homemade gift advice.

I just hope she makes me some of those chocolate covered pretzels for when I visit her (they're my favorite).
