My Baby Is Growing Up

Look at my baby she is growing up she has lost her front baby tooth and she pulled it out herself. She had been bugging us all day to get it out she said it was bothering her so she went into the bathroom and yanked that sucker out. I can't believe how big my baby is getting she is 6 1/2 and it seems like just yesterday I was changing her diapers.

Check This Out

This is my son's version of cleaning his room. He took everything that was littered on the floor and stuck it into his closet. See that big thing with the smiley face on it? Well once I moved that a ton of toys, clothes and junk fell on my feet. I had decided to rearrange his room and wanted to put things in the closet so when I opened the doors this disaster was waiting for me.

He had the nerve to tell me yesterday that he had cleaned up his room well technically he did but he put it all in no order into his closet. Are ya kidding me? Somebody is in trouble......

Baby Girls Class Trip

I was on a class trip with my daughter today we went to a plant nursery. The kids got to go on a hayride to a pumpkin patch. They got to decorate their pumpkins.

They got to build a straw man but baby girl didn't want to help do that I think she was scared of the straw man. They were given pansies to plant and take home. They played a game similar to musical chairs but they used different kinds of plants for the kids to stop in front of.The kids standing in front of the plant that was called got a prize. After the plant nursery we went the lake for a picnic lunch. It was a nice day they all had so much fun.

Kids Fighting

The kids are at school "The Man" is on his way to California and I am all alone. Mostly I enjoy the quiet time well actually it's not to quiet I do turn the stereo up almost to max volume. It helps drown out the voices no not the voices in my head I'm not crazy or anything. The voices burned into my brain from the kids fighting the whole night before.

They start as soon as they open their tiny little eyes until I get them on their bus and after they get home it starts in the car on the way back home. It doesn't end until they close their tiny little eyes to drift off to the land of slumber. Even then sometimes they talk in their sleep and I'm sure it's a dream about an argument.

It's amazing how many things they can find to fight about

"he's looking at me"

"tell her to stop following me around"

"mom she told me to shut up"

"he made me say it"

Do they do it to irritate each other or to bother me? Maybe it's payback for being such an unruly teen myself.

I guess it's just a part of having a sibling I remember one of my brothers used to do terrible things to me when we were growing up. It's kind of weird how our relationship was he could choke me until I turned blue but let someone else say I was stupid or something and he would punch their face in. He was protective like that when he wasn't torturing me.

My other older brother just acted like I wasn't there I don't think he even acknowledged I was around until I was 11 years old. he only did it then because his girlfriend liked me and she would make him bring me to her house to play Monopoly. Those were the days playing Monopoly and listening to Foriegner's Head Games cassette. Hey that sound's good I think I am going to throw on that tape right now and dance around the house like a fool.

My proud Mommy Moments

My son is a piece of work he just came out of the bathroom with a huge smile on his face.
The boy with q-tips in hand is proud of the amount of ear wax that he pulled out of his ear.
Look mom isn't it cool how much wax was in my ear? HeHe He laughs at it I'm thinking man thats nasty and I can't wait to write about it how sad am I?

Fast forward a few mins and he is on the floor playing with a few of his pokemon toys and he says "mom did you hear that shhh sound"?

me "no why what was it"?
The boy "it was my butt" it told me to be quite...
He is such a character. Where does he come up with this stuff? I guess it may have something to do with the the things his dad does to him.
Example: the boy is in the kitchen sitting at the table doing homework
The Man (dad) is in the living room sitting on couch dad gets up goes into the kitchen puts his ass on boys back lets one rip and then returns to seat on couch.
I say to the man "did you just get up walk into the kitchen just to fart on the boy"?
He says "yup"
The things that amuse men and kids.

Why Can't We All Just Get Along?

I am not sure what is going on with my kids. My son is 11 and my daughter is 6 and they fight like cats and dogs. Everything is a battle they can't even brush their teeth without arguing. I don't remember fighting with my brothers this much.

Today was especially rough it was the first day home from school for summer break. Let me say this if today was what summer is going to be like then I know two kids who are going to be spending a lot of time in their bedrooms.

I really need to find things for them to do that won't cause an argument. They even found a way to have a fight in the pool. Maybe they spend to much time together but it is just the three of us most of the time. Daddy is always away at work he has been gone for a week and a half this time.

I am crossing my fingers that it won't be this way the entire summer.

The tooth fairy came

I was under the impression that by age 11 all of your baby teeth were gone you were just waiting for your 12 year molars to come in. But once again I was wrong The Boy lost a tooth last night. He had been playing with it for sometime. Complaining about it hurting but yet steady pulling on it go figure. I know if something is hurting me when I touch it then guess what I don't touch it DUH!

But he is a kid and a boy so anyway he finally got it to come out. He comes into the kitchen with said tooth in hand and blood all over his fingers. "
Wanna know how I got it out mom?"

" I did this and that and finally out it pops."

I said "ok let me see where it was good for you now go rinse your mouth out"

When he was done he came back to show me where it had been I really wish he didn't I do not like to see blood but oh well for me.

"now make sure you put it in a bag and put it under your pillow for the tooth fairy"(he still believes in it)Who am I to burst his bubble?

The whole time I am thinking to myself "man this blows I just spent my last $10.00 on gas for the lawn mower" Not that I am poor or anything I just don't have cash on hand.

So he heads off to bed tooth in hand and now my mission is to search the house for loose change. Have you ever noticed when you don't want to find change there it is laying everywhere just waiting to be sucked up by that very expensive vacuum.Of course now there is no change to be found anywhere. Oh no!

What to do? What to do? Wait! I remember there is a coffee can full of change in the closet so I hurry off to dig through the closet. I find the can under all the x-mas stuff (The Man was supposed to put the x-mas stuff in the shed around um January) So I open the can only to discover it only had about 1 million pennies and some nickles.

So I find 2 quarters yippee and the rest I use nickles. I sneak quietly into the boy's room to snatch the tooth and leave the change praying I do not wake him. SUCCESS! Now I can go to bed happy that once again the tooth fairy came and went without being spotted.

This morning the boy comes out to eat breakfast change in hand and says "wow I got a lot of quarters" he begins to count his new shiny change only to say "oh man it is only 2 quarters the rest is all nickles that sucks" HMMMM! when I was a kid we were lucky to get one nickle and he is complaining. Geese be happy you got anything at all (I'm thinking to myself)

So he heads off to school I look and his change is sitting on the table he must have been really disappointed because he usually puts his change in his money container. Not to be confused with a piggy bank that is for babies. So I guess I have learned a valuable lesson here make sure to keep plenty of quarters on hand you never know when those damn baby teeth are going to decide to pop out.

Pool Time !!!!

It was a scorcher yesterday so after the kids got home from school they just had to go into thier itty bitty pool.Babygirl just jumps right in no hesitation involved she is getting so good at swimming she doesn't need her swimmy suit anymore.Well in their pool if she goes to the neighbors house she needs it their pool is huge. She does handstands now and flips it's amazing how good she has gotten. As you can see she is wearing shorts and a tank top I do need to get her a new bathing suit. What a task that is going to be I am so not looking forward to it. Not only because it cost way to much for a child size (almost as much as an adult) but because she is so darn picky. I know it is going to be an all day affair to find one. Good luck to me I say.
Sorry for removing the picture but I jusr watched law and order SVU and it was about pedafiles and how and what they do with kids pictures. So i am not putting my kids pics up anymore.

Now the boy he doesn't like to jump right in he is like me. It's all about letting each body part get used to the water. It takes him quite a long time to get all the way in. He makes me laugh though I am not sure how many of you know that boys swimming trunks have a mesh liner in them (well I guess you know now) but anywho my boy for some reason likes to keep on his undies. I asked him why and he says "in case my trunks fall down". I guess I can see his point I know if I was him I wouldn't want anyone to see my Shiny Hiney. He also likes to keep on a t-shirt he doesn't like to show off his killer abs. It's like pulling teeth to get him to put on a guinea-t (that's what The Man calls them) I guess he doesn't want to scare anyone with his "guns". If you knew how tiny his arms are you would be laughing at that last remark. Just to give you an idea of how tiny his arms are I can touch my forefinger to my pinky when I wrap them around his upper arm. I know you just put your fingers together to get an idea of what I'm saying. HA!HA!HA!

They had a great time swimming around splashing each other screaming yelling and that was just in the first 5 minutes. I decided it was way to hot to just sit there and watch them so I got in with them. The pool is so tiny it only comes to my waist so I do what any smart person who doesn't want the neighbors to see me in the kiddie pool would do.I grabbed my lawn chair and set it right in the middle of the pool and sat down on it.AHHHHH that was great. Now the water would cover all my body parts I sure do not want anyone seeing.I already have one man who loves me I don't want all the other men in the neighborhood to fall head over heels for me to.You know how it is when your smokin hottt!JK

It sure did feel good being in the pool I had mowed the lawn earlier and it was sooo hot. I still have more to do tomorrow though. It takes me a few days to mow our yard it is LARGE.If I did it all on the same day it would take me 4 hours. I know this because I did it once and I will not do it again my ass was so numb when I got done. Not to mention my boobs felt like they were going to bounce off my chest, or even give me a major black eye.Sometimes I wish I was a member of the itty bitty titty Committee. I have a new friend that is the president of said community. So I guess since I can't join that committee I will be joining the kids in the pool again after school because it was fun.

The Lonely Life Of A Trucking Family

The lonely life of a truckers wife is just that lonely my husband is a over the road truck driver. He has been doing it for a little over a year now and it SUCKS! He is never home not for birthdays, anniversaries, some holidays, school functions. The only two times he is guaranteed to be home is Thanksgiving & Christmas.

I hate it he hates it and the kids hate it but he has to work and we have to learn to deal. It's hard on me as a wife and a mother,it's hard on him as a father and a husband.

The only thing he likes is getting to go to places he would otherwise never get to go. Like Alaska he has been there 3 times. The first time he found out he was going there I was more excited about it than he was. I said "if you see any moose take a picture or any other creatures we may never see". He did see a moose but couldn't get a picture at the time but he told me it was huge. I would have loved to see one maybe someday I will get a chance to go there.

He has been to California so many times now I have lost track he says it is nice there but I would not like it. I do not like to be hot not at all and he says it is always hot there. So I guess I will probably not ever go there.

Still even though he goes to all these places (I know I only named two of them if I named them all it would take up this whole page) it's a lonely life for all of us. As it is right now we haven't seen him in over a week he left last weekend for Cal. and was on his way back when the job called him to tell him to go to NJ. That means a few more days away a few more days of me being mom and dad. Him being without his family eating no home cooked meals sleeping in a bunk.

We miss him so much all the time he calls often but it is not the same he is missing out on so much with the kids. They are always asking when is dad coming home? Or is dad coming home today? I hate telling them no I am not sure when he is coming home.

Some good news today he will be coming home after midnight tonight. Bad news is he probably will only be home or a day maybe two if we are lucky. The worse news this means he will not be home for Memorial day weekend. You would think we would be used to it but I don't think we ever will. My wish is that someday soon he will be able to switch jobs and be home like other husbands and daddy's. But until then it is a lonely life for a trucker and his family.

Five Things That Make An 11 Year Old Boy Laugh

1. Boy"Mom know what's funny?"

Mom"Your face!'

That get's him every time.

2. Mom" son does your face hurt?"

Son "no why?"

Mom "because it's killing me"

(my brother used to say that to me all the time when I was a kid now I get to finally use it on someone)

3. When he let's gas out (fart) say would you tell your butt to stop talking smack

4.When he is sitting at the table doing his homework stand behind him and pass gas on his back (his daddy does that to him) he cracks up for hours at that one and even tells his friends.

5. Just say the word FART causes uncontrollable laughter (even works with 6 year old girls)

A Mothers realization

Today started out good the sun was shining and there was a cool breeze blowing. I went out to do some errands before I had to head off to my son's school for field day. I had the radio on while I was driving and the great music just kept on coming. I had the window down and was singing and dancing. Going from place to place getting things done got home after all was complete had some lunch.

I was so excited about going to see my boy I have been going to all of his school events since he was in preschool. It's a mothers right to go to these functions to cheer him and his classmates on. It has always been such a joy for me to see him do well he is a fast runner so he is always the one who has to do all the running events.

But my day went horribly wrong see today was the day I as a mother have been dreading for 11 years (that is how old my boy is). Today I realized my boy is growing up and he didn't want me to be at his school for field day. I know this because in all of his school years he was always excited to see me come walking in the room or out on the field whatever the case may be. Today was different he avoided me just came over to me when I said "hey son how is it going". SIGH!

I sat next to him as I have always done and he didn't say a word he just looked around at all the other kids chatting with them cheering with them. Ok that's fine I can understand that is what they do but. As I sat there beside my son I could sense his uncomfortableness. So I said to him "Did you want me to hang here or go ahead and go" Know what he said he said "You can go if you want". :( That took a big chunk out of my heart.

So I said "Ok son have fun and good luck" . I was going to go and stand in the back of the room so I could wait for him to be in an event because when I had gotten there he hadn't had a turn yet. So I go to the back where I can see him but he can't see me and wait. Luckily he was in the next evet so I got a chance to se him. The event was called moon walking the kids had these metal alien looking things on their heads that they had to walk to the cone at the end while balancing these alien things on their heads. Well he was walking along and I am smiling wide watching him and low and behold he sees me and stumbles and drops the things on his head and gives me a look of disappointment.

I felt my heart break as he bent down to pick up the alien things and go back to the beginning and start all over. So I put my tail between my legs swallowed my heart and walked out of the building. I was thinking to myself the whole way to my car Oh my goodness my son doesn't need me anymore. I had to hold back the tears that I felt burning in my eyes. How could this happen? When did this happen? How do I deal with this?

I guees it's all a part of growing up and I have to learn that in private my son is mommy's baby boy. At school and in public he is my big strong man. This is something I will deal with in my own time and my own way. I still LOVE my boy.

My Tornado bag

Why is it that thunderstorms always happen at night? The news said all day that storms were coming and no sooner did the sun go down and I hear the rumble in the distance.

OH NO! Panic sets in!!!

So I figure I will just sit and watch Greys so I turn on the TV and as soon as I do I see tornado watches for the county we live in. You see having lived in Jersey my whole life I never really was scared of thunderstorms, I'm not saying I liked them they may have made me a little uncomfortable but here in N.C . they just seem more intense.

Add to that the tornado watches and warnings and I find myself wishing my mommy and daddy were here.

So let me get back to where I was, so I see the warnings going across the screen and hear the thunder and see the flashes of lighten happening more and more frequently. The TV is freezing up (we have dish network it kept losing signal) I decide to get together what I call my tornado bag lol. Really it isn't funny if my friends could only see me I go around the house gathering up things for me and the kids.

What sort of things well undies to make sure if the tornado really does hit here and we lose everything at least me and the kids will have clean undies.Tissues because they fit in my so-called tornado bag better than a roll of TP. Snacks because well they to fit in my bag easier than ice to keep cheese or milk you know fridge things. A change of clothes for us all to ensure that we will be able to have clean clothes after a few days. (I don't know why I grab theses things I am in panic mode)

I also make sure to keep band aids and antibiotic cream in case someone gets a boo boo. I have to say one thing during all this panic and packing all I can think about (and I know some people will be upset with me but) is oh man I forgot to get smokes the store is going to be blown away and I am going to be out of cigs. That is the worst feeling if your a smoker knowing that something terrible might happen and there will not be any cigs to calm your nerves.

So while I'm packing and worried about the storm the kids the pets no smokes my husband calls (he is a truck driver and is on his way to California) he says "what ya doing?"

I say there is a bad thunderstorm going on there is watches and warnings all over the TV so I am getting things together. He says "what kind of things?"

Well I proceed to tell him the things I am packing and he starts laughing at me. I can not believe it I am here having a panic attack and he laughs. He says "Stinky" (that's what he calls me) "What are you doing?"

He thinks I worry to much about it but he is not here it's just me and the kids and I am a little uneasy. But anyway he calmed me down and I was finally able to gather my thoughts, you see while I was talking to him on the phone the storm had finished and to my wonderful surprise no TORNADO. So I get myself ready for bed because now I can sleep. While I am getting ready for bed I looked at my tornado bag and said I will put everything back in the morning.

The First Day

Today is the first day of a whole new blog. I am trying my hand at writing about our family. First there's me I am the mom I am a stay at home mom. I don't know why I am called a stay at home mom it is not necessarily a choice I made more like something I had to do. Don't get me wrong I would much rather be the one raising my two beautiful children rather than some stranger that I have to pay. I love being a mom I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It is the hardest job I have ever had though, knowing what's right and wrong and trying to teach the kids while learning it myself. Sometimes I am not to sure I am doing it right especially when my 6 year old daughter decides to test her limits. But all in all it is fun and cool to have two people who count on me and love me for who I am and not who they think I should be.

Well I guess I will tell you a little more about myself I lived in N.J. my whole life then one day we decided to move and now we live in Stem N.C. I love it here we have about 5 3/4 acres of land it is beautiful. The only bad thing I have found is the spiders I DO NOT like spiders and this is no place to live if you don't like them. But besides that it is the perfect place to live our community is very small only 11 houses here in this developement and that is just fine by me. I am currently enrolled at the local community colleges on-line program. I am taking medical terminology once I am done with that I will be taking human anatomy and psycology and then medical coding all in hopes of getting a job in the medical field. So far so good I am doing alot better than I thought I would.
I like to listen to music mostly classic rock like Led Zeppelin (which is my favorite group), Journey (Steve Perry has the most amazing voice ever). I will eventually make a list of my favs when I figure out how to.
